I was just wondering how often the library is cleaned.

How often are the keyboard, mouse, screens, tables, chairs, printers, onecard machine, stapler wiped down? This is a common area that is similar to the bathroom, thousands of people are using these facilities in a day, and I have noticed the same coffee stain on the table or keyboard for days. I think this is very unsanitary and it is an issue that needs to be addressed.

While Campus Planning and Facilities try to maintain a standard of cleanliness in the Library, they are not able to provide additional cleaning services such as wiping keyboards, mice, and other kinds of technology available in the Library. To our knowledge, this level of cleaning is not available in any other common areas of the university, such as computer labs or classrooms.

We provide wipes at the Research Help Desk if users would like to wipe down keyboards, etc., prior to use. If you feel that this is an additional cleaning service that the university should provide in all common areas, you may wish to share your comments with Campus Planning and Facilities or submit a similar comment to Soapbox in Blackboard, so your peers can contribute their perspective on this issue.
