Is there a limit on how many references I can save in RefWorks?

There is no limit on the number of references you can have in your RefWorks account, but the account can be hard to back-up when it contains more than 20,000 references.

Having a large number of attachments can also cause back-up issues.  If you have more than 100 attached files, you may not be able to move the full contents of your database into a new account. (You will still be able to move the references, but not the attachments).

More faqs relating to RefWorks can be viewed here.
