I am trying to access an ebook that the library site is insisting is "in use". Is there a way around this?

Answer

This depends on the title, and the publisher providing the ebook. Some ebooks allow multiple access, while others do not. When purchasing ebooks, we prefer multiple access to maximize access for our users, but this is not always an option.

Some publishers provide information about the level of access in the ebook interface, while others do not. If you are unsure about the status of an ebook, please contact the Research Help Desk on the main floor of the Library where staff may be able to determine if a specific ebook allows for multiple access.
