Q

Suggestion: Acquiring a set of mental health books/workbooks for students seeking counselling at Ryerson to access.

I am a PhD student in Psychology and former counsellor at the Centre for Student Development and Counselling. It would be beneficial to have small collection of key psychological resources/books that counsellors could refer students to as cost is often an issues (e.g. Mind Over Mood, The Shyness and Social Anxiety Workbook, etc.). Would be a great resource for students in need. There are already some books that are readily accessible (e.g. Quiet Your Mind by Dr. Carney and Dr. Manber), while others psychology graduate students like myself take out for substantial periods of time and are then unavailable to students seeking counselling. A specific small library for general students or students in counselling would improve access to helpful resources.
